Weekend Visitor

After Nathaniel and I returned from St. Louis Geof found this attaced to the handle of his toy wheelbarrow...


What is that? you ask...well, it's a Monarch chrysalis, and a very special find. We removed it from the toy (so Geof wouldn't destroy it) and put it in a little jelly jar with a sunflower for a bed, and about a week later it looked like this...


Only a few hours later, it looked like this...


A few more hours later, and a move to the basil plant on the porch...

He flew away after spending the night on the basil plant...he might be somewhere over Mexico right now...I wonder if he'll send a postcard. Ha!
