Mad World

I found this artist and song via Myspace several months ago, yes, I'm a Myspacer. Anyhoo, I ran across this video via some random blog on BlogExplosion. I thought it was neat-o and wanted to share. Enjoy!

Comic Relief

My Geof, being the typical inquisitive 3 year old and comedian that he is, never misses an opportunity to entertain. This past weekend was spent battling a nasty stomach virus, first by yours truly and now by Master Geof. This afternoon during one of our many trips to the bathroom the following exchange took place:

Geof: "Mommy, what is puke?"
Me: "It's the same thing as throw-up."
Geof: "Well, what's throw-up?"
Me: "It's like when your mouth has diarrhea instead of your butt."
...momentary pause...
Geof: with one corner of his mouth turned upward into a sly little grin..."Mom, I think I need to puke with my butt now."

What did I ever do in this life, or a previous one, to deserve such a wonderfully sick-humored kid?!

Black Friday

It's that time of year again, fellow penny-pinchers, time to help put retailers back in the black! I'm sure I'm like a lot of folks out there. I don't want to line someone elses pockets any more than I have to...especially if that someone else is a giant retailer. So I go hunting for deals. In past years my strategy has been flipping through sales papers the week before the big sale...aka Black Friday. This year thanks to my local news station I learned about a great website called GottaDeal.com. I've especially found the forums very useful. There's a section for freebies, contests, etc. The board is very active, which is more than I can say for similar sites. Now, I may be the last person to know this but my favorite part of the site at the moment is all about Black Friday. You can actually see the sales papers before they are released to the public! Gah! where has this been all my life?! I've already made my lists and checked them twice. Just wanted to share, hope you find it useful!

A Question For You

Nathaniel and I are both maturing in our culinary skills and we both feel it is time to update/upgrade our kitchen tools. I am looking for a shove in the right direction towards a source for such things. Does anyone out there know of a good paper catalog, website, or store that sells stuff for the kitchen? We're in need of decent good quality knives, general gadgets, and some pots and pans. I've done some searching online but I keep running into the same sites. Some are the insanely expensive and some are the insanely cheap...is there a middle ground? We are both lovers of a good bargain without sacrificing quality. Perhaps you may have a brand suggestion? Any help would be most appreciated! Thanks!

We didn't get a half mile down the road when we see blue lights behind us. I was driving so I pulled over. Turns out the questioned us about why we had parked the car at the truck stop for a week. Apparently there's a drug trafficking problem, yadda, yadda, yadda. Then they let us go. Kinda silly, really.
